Toward Perception Based Computing: A Rough-Granular Perspective
We discus the Wisdom Granular Computing (WGC) as a basic methodology for Perception Based Computing (PBC). By wisdom, we understand an adaptive ability to make judgements correctly to a satisfactory degree (in particular, correct decisions) having in mind reallife constraints. We propose Rough-Granular Computing (RGC) as the basis for WGC.

OBJECTIVES Summarize excellent current research in the field of Health Information Systems. METHOD Synopsis of the articles selected for the IMIA Yearbook 2013. RESULTS Five papers from international peer reviewed journals have been selected for the section on health information systems. CONCLUSIONS The selected articles illustrate current research regarding health information technology ...
متن کاملToward Perception-Based Shape Decomposition
The aim of this work is to decompose shapes into parts which are consistent to human perception. We propose a novel shape decomposition method which utilizes the three perception rules suggested by psychological study: the Minima rule, the Short-cut rule and the Convexity rule. Unlike the previous work, we focus on improving the convexity of the decomposed parts while minimizing the cut length ...
متن کاملToward Perception-Based Image Retrieval
Since a content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system services people, its image characterization and similarity measure must closely follow perceptual characteristics. In this study, we enumerate a few psychological and physiological invariants and show how they can be considered by a CBIR system. We propose distance functions to measure perceptual similarity for color, shape, and spatial distri...
متن کاملTowards Perception-aware Interactive Data Visualization Systems
An often overlooked element of the interactive data visualization stack is the human in the loop. While computational and data processing capabilities have increased over time, human limits have remained constant. In this light, we describe extensions to client-server database-driven visualization systems that are both customized to interactive workloads, and support perceptual models that appr...
